Graphic - Philippians 2.12-13.001

This Sunday we will look at a fascinating passage from the New Testament letter to the Philippians.

The Apostle Paul is writing to his friends in Philippi urging them to live in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus, and in this particular passage, he describes for them the power of God that energies their journey in following Jesus:

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

It's a passage that has at once dazzled and confused believers. On the one hand, is the Apostle telling them to work for their salvation? That doesn't seem in sync with grace.

On the other hand, exploring what it means to have the all-powerful Creator working in us--even energizing us--to follow Jesus is quite intriguing.

What does that mean for you and me? For us as a community of faith?

We'll explore these questions as we seek to dive deeply into Good News of Jesus for us.

Please join us in person at 10am this Sunday at the Hilton Garden Inn.

We hope to see you Sunday!
