We are quickly approaching the highpoint and center of this letter the Apostle Paul wrote from prison. It often goes by the name of "the Christ-hymn" becausae of it's description of the beauty of Christ's humility and exaltation. 

But before we get to it, Paul sets it up by highlighting a clear and present danger this little community of faith faces living in the midst of a Roman colony. 

And it's doesn't have so much to do with threats from outslde their assembly as it does with threats from within. 

The fruit can take a thousand and one different forms, but the root is all the same, namely a lack of humility. 

Join us as we take a look at the preface to the Christ-hymn, seek to apply its wisdom to our lives, and grow in the grace and knoweldge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
