Mercy Hill Sunday Gathering - May 1, 2022

Jesus is quickly approaching Jerusalem, and his timing could not be more perfect.

The annual celebration of the Passover is right around the corner, and folks could not be more excited--excited about Jesus and what he is about to do.

The only problem is, their anticipation of what Jesus is going to do in Jerusalem and what he will actually do are worlds apart.

They are anticipating that Jesus will at last spark the revolution that will finally overthrow Rome's occupation of Israel. After all, all Jesus talks about is the kingdom of God.

And yet, Jesus knows he will ultimately be rejected along with his way of peace--the shalom that Jeru-shalom has been yearning for, but couldn't recognize.

So Jesus takes a story from the headlines and uses it to talk about how he will actually go away into a far country to receive the kingdom, and and then return.

And what should Jesus' followers be doing between now and then?

Join us this Sunday as we look at what Jesus' expectations are for his followers upon his return, and we'll see how the heart of Jesus longs to say, "Well done, good servant!", and to shower us with blessings.

Here's a copy of the worship folder

We hope you can join us in person at 10am this Sunday at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Grace & peace to you!
