Graphic - Philippians 2.1-11 (Part 4).001

We have spent three weeks looking at this amazing section of the Apostle Paul's letter to the Philippians. So far we have seen,

  • Paul's instrutions for them in humility to consider others more significant than themselves
  • Paul's example of Jesus humbling himself even to the point of death on a cross
  • Paul's beautiful description of God exalting Jesus to the highest place and giving him the name that is above every name

This week, we'll do a broad fly over of this section, and see that what Paul is teaching them (and us), is that God wants to imprint this template of Christ dying and rising again into our every day lives.

This is such a crucial teaching, everywhere spoken of in the New Testament, but so poorly grasped by Christians everywhere.

After all, in the very letter to the Philippians, Paul urges two of his fellow workers for the gospel in Philippi, Euodia and Syntyche, to agree with one another in the Lord.

They are at an impasse, and Paul wants the imprint of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection to be at work in their lives, not only for their sake and for the sake of the church in Philippi, but also for the sake of the gospel of Jesus.

Join us this Sunday as we ask the question, what would it look like for me to die and rise with Jesus in my everyday life?

Here's a copy of the worship folder for this Sunday.

We hope to see you this Sunday at 10am at the Hilton Garden Inn.

All the best to you in Christ,

Pastor John
