This study looks at the an episode in the life of Jesus in which arises the most important question that we could ever ask, the most famous story Jesus ever told, and a most surprising pop quiz that links the two together.
Imagine getting a pop quiz from Jesus of Nazareth, and the question has to do with eternal life, human dignity, and the responsibility we have towards fellow humans.
Because, you see, what we believe has repercussions for the way we live and move in this world, and how we treat one another.
This passage for our study is the famous passage of “The Good Samaritan,” and it is arguably the most famous story that Jesus ever told.
Many people who have never read the Bible or attended a church, and even those who don't’ know much about Jesus, have heard of “The Good Samaritan.” Many people think that it’s just about being a good person and practicing random acts of kindness.
But is it possible that we’ve actually missed the message that Jesus intended to convey? As we’ll see, there is definitely something much deeper going on here, and if we want to understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus, then it is vital for us to grasp what Jesus is saying.
