Suffering drives some people away from God. And it drives some people to God.

In our this passage from the Gospel of Luke, we’ll see that the suffering in one man’s life drives him to Jesus. We'll see a desperate man who was at his wits end with the pain and suffering that his son was experiencing.

And we’ll see this man as he comes face to face with Jesus of Nazareth, and in this encounter we will learn something about what it means to trust in Jesus even in the presence of unanswered questions and piercing doubts.

We'll learn that faith and doubt, belief and unbelief, can coexist at the same time. And we’ll see the remedy for that condition, and we’ll be challenged to dare to believe that God moves towards us in just such a condition.
