The story of the prodigal son is perhaps the most powerful and most loved of all the parables that Jesus told.
And for good reason. It's all about experiencing the reckless, extravagant grace of the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is why Jesus was hanging out with the misfits, the outcasts, and the sinners who had been marginalized by society.
The religious leaders were scandalized by it, but their grumbling at Jesus' reception of these folks gave the context for Jesus' beautiful and powerful story that we're calling, "The Embrace of God," because as we learned from this study,
The Father's embrace means there's always grace greater than our sin.
