Scripture: Luke 19:11–28
The crowds are anticipating that Jesus will at last spark the revolution that will finally overthrow Rome's occupation of Israel. After all, all Jesus talks about is the kingdom of God.
And yet, Jesus knows he will ultimately be rejected along with his way of peace--the shalom that Jeru-shalom has been yearning for, but couldn't recognize.
So Jesus takes a story from the headlines and uses it to talk about how he will actually go away into a far country to receive the kingdom, and and then return.
And what should Jesus' followers be doing between now and then?
Dive into this study as we take a look at Jesus' expectations for his followers, and we'll see how the heart of Jesus longs to say, "Well done, good servant!", and to shower us with blessings.
