Advent is a season in which Christians around the world reflect on the reason for the season, namely, the coming of our Lord Jesus.
But why did he come? There are a number of ways to answer this question, but one that is often overlooked is mentioned by John the Apostle: "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the work of the devil."
