Governor Greg Abbott's executive order requires all Texans to wear a face covering in public spaces.

Therefore the leadership of Mercy Hill Church is requiring all participants 10 years of age and older to wear a face covering while attending our worship service at the Hilton Garden Inn (this is a requirement of our hotel as well).

Please read through this page for our protocols so you know what to expect as we gather for worship at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Here is a copy of our worship folder to print out and bring with you.

Here's what we'll be studying this week:

"What am I anymore if not this?"

In 2016, Ronda "Rowdy" Rousey gave an admission that shocked the sports world.

She was the undefeated mixed martial arts female fighter in the world. On top of that, she had been voted "Best Female Athlete Ever" by ESPN.

And she laid that all on the line when she took on Holly "The Preacher's Daughter" Holm.

Seconds into the second round, Holm landed a knockout blow that ended the match. And Rousey literally fell apart that night.

In a moment of honesty on The Ellen Show, she revealed that she had contemplated suicide the evening of her defeat.

“Honestly, my thought in the medical room: I was sitting in the corner and was like, 'What am I anymore if I'm not this? Literally sitting there thinking about killing myself. In that exact second, I'm like, 'I'm nothing. What do I do anymore? No one [cares] about me anymore without this.”

Thankfully, she didn’t follow through with her suicidal thoughts that evening, but it does raise a question about that evening.

How would you describe what happened?

Many would say she was suffering from an identity crisis.

Biblically, it would be more accurate to say she was suffering from an idolatry crisis.

Join us this Sunday in person or online as we continue in our series, "Create in Me a Pure Heart" by looking at what's behind the heart of the matter.

And as we examine this much neglected and seeminly antiquated biblical category of idolatry, we'll learn much about what drives us as human beings.

And more than that, we'll learn and appreciate and maybe be freshly in awe of what drove Jesus to do what he did for us.

We hope you can join us in person at the Hilton Garden Inn or online through our live Facebook stream this Sunday at 10am!
