The season of Advent is upon us. Christians around the world often mark the four Sundays leading up to Christmas Day as an opportunity to think and reflect upon the reason for our dear Savior's birth. 

In our culture, there is the familiar phrase, "Jesus is the Reason for the Season." 

And a truer statement could not be uttered. 

The Scriptures flesh this out by giving us other reasons why Jesus is the reason for the season, and we're going to look at one of those this week by looking at John 3:16-17. 

And we'll see that the world is also the reason for the season. More specifically, God's love of this world is the reason he gave us Jesus.
