Mercy Hill Sunday Gathering - March 5, 2023

WF Mar 5

Graphic - Philippians 3.12-16 (Eyes on the Prize).001

How does a personal experience of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ affect a person?

No doubt there are a number of ways to answer this question, but for Saul of Damascus, experiencing the grace of Jesus had a profound effect upon him. Far from making him passive, grace actually provided a deep motivation “to press on.”

In writing from prison, Saul (also known as Paul) likened the call to follow Jesus as a race to be won, not in the sense of earning grace. No, this grace was given at the start of the race, and now empowers him forward.

In the passage we will reflect on together this Sunday, Paul is a pace-setter, telling us two times that he presses on, with his eyes on the prize.

Join us this Sunday as we reflect on what it means for us to keep our eyes on the prize, to run this race with endurance and intentionally.

After all, what other response could we have to the glorious truth that “Christ Jesus has made me his own” (Philippians 3:12)?

Here’s a copy of the worship folder.

We hope you can join us this Sunday at 10:00am at the Hilton Garden Inn

See you then,

John
