If someone were to describe you as a loving person, what would they say? 

No doubt, they would use descriptions like, "You are kind," or "You volunteer in your spare time," or "You provide for your family." 

And no doubt those things are true. But do you think you would pass Jesus' definition of love? 

In what is perhaps the most famous story Jesus ever told, Jesus paints a picture of what loving others looks like. And in doing so, turns the expectations and definitions of his contemporaries on their heads. 

And he does no less for us as well. 

This week, we're going to revisit the story about the Good Samaritan, asking fresh questions about this story that was prompted by a discussion about eternal life. 

And we'll let this story ask fresh questions of us too about what it means to live out Jesus' vision of a new way of being human in a broken and desperate world.
