Devoted to One Another
June 9, 2019 Speaker: John Ferguson Series: Life Together
Scripture: Acts 2:42
I imagine that if you’ve been in BCS for any length of time, you are familiar with what sociologists call “crowded loneliness.”
How is it possible to be surrounded by around 250,000 people in this community (& 68,000 at TAMU) and still feel so…alone? So…disconnected? So…unknown? What is it about life in this place that lends itself so easily to being not just “lost in the crowd” but “lonely in the crowd.”
Is this the way it’s supposed to be? Shouldn’t things be different?
What does Jesus envision for friendship and community? What kind of world did Jesus envision for his followers?
The simple answer: devotion to one another.
